I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by— John Masefield, Sea FeverDays We Got Around to Posting

Headed to the Galapagos Day Two
An other beautiful day on the high seas today, nary a cloud to be found. And for a few hours at mid day, nary a whisper of wind. But fortunately that didn’t last too long. So far the weather is defying the models and we have enough wind to move Read On..
En Route to the Galapagos – Day One
Finally at 2:00 local time we pulled the anchor and left Panama! At first the seas were glassy and we left under power. As we cleared Tabogo Island a nice fresh breeze picked up and we’ve been sailing ever since. The wind has dropped a bit in the evening but Read On..

Zarpe Diem
We have our Zarpe, or exit paperwork for exiting Panama. Our passports are stamped and we are cleared out. We have a few more housekeeping tasks like storing the dinghy on the deck and we are ready to move. We should be underway in a couple of hours. We estimate Read On..

Trinidad to Panama
Trinidad to Panama is about 1,100 nautical miles. Conveniently, there are a few islands en route like Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao (known as “The ABC’s) that are about halfway across and make for a convenient stopping place. Somewhere off the Coast of Colombia…
This was originally sent from the boat during our passage from Aruba to Trinidad. However Blogger.com’s “Post by e-mail” never seems to work for me unless I am just posting “This is a Test Post” in which case it works fine. At least I get a chance to (mostly) fix Read On..

Bye Bye to the BVI
Tomorrow we head off to new horizons – we set off to Saint Martin in the wee hours of the morning. It’s about 70 miles across the Anegada Passage, plus some extra miles leaving Virgin Gorda and arriving in St. Martin making for about an 80 mile trip if we Read On..

The Rest of the Trip to Annapolis…
…really wasn’t all that exciting. We decided on anchoring after the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal that we wanted to “get up early” and get going, since it was still a ways to Annapolis – somewhat over 50 (nautical) miles. Which is a decent day’s trip when you are only covering Read On..

Fast trip, slow posts…
Certainly I’ve been a little remiss in catching up my my blog posts, but we’ve been busy since we hit the Chesapeake. The trip down here was surprisingly uneventful. Fun, pretty fast, and really almost two separate trips tacked together. Leaving Block Island behind was in some ways more nostalgic Read On..
