Firmly Etched in Wet Sand…
…below the high water mark. That’s how I generally describe our plans and how we make them. But sometimes it’s nice to actually KNOW what you will be doing, and it is also required to know when you are applying for things like visas and permits. The Original Plan. Sort Read On..

Catching Up in New Zealand
First, my profuse apologies for not updating this more. I’ve been writing, but writing fiction, not blogging. That’s been taking a lot of my time. The good news is I’ve written something like 130,000 words since last July. But very few of those words ended up in this blog. Whether Read On..

The day I have dreaded for weeks has almost arrived. Tomorrow at 1:00 in the afternoon we’re pulling Evenstar for a week and putting her on stands on the hard. Hopefully no more than a week. We’re doing this for a few reasons, but mostly because we are getting the Read On..

We’ve finally gotten our package with our documentation from the states, the major repairs are complete, and we are now preparing to leave Panama for the Galapagos. Which means work. Lots and lots of work. We have a long list of things to secure, check, service or fix to make Read On..

Mr. Fixit’s Update
Progress is being made on our repairs, but not fast enough. We’d planned to be in Costa Rica some time ago. Will was scheduled to spend a couple of weeks interning at Robert H. Perry Yacht Design (and see Bob’s blog in the blog roll) so we booked a flight Read On..

Cocked-up…
Or so say our friends across the pond when something is messed up a fair amount. Bollocksed-up works too, but sadly there is nothing on the boat called a “Seabollocks” because it sounds like there should be. Getting the boat hauled on schedule and getting the bottom painted all proceeded Read On..

I Have Always Relied on the Kindness of Others…
Blanche Dubois contemplates the technical issues confronting her autopilot installation. or “The Second Worst Project Ever: The Stunning Conclusion“ There is no way this autopilot installation would ever have come together relying purely on my own technical skills.
