That is the question.
Blogs have always struck me as being a bit pretentious. I mean – we’re all normal, every day people…are our lives and thoughts so interesting we need to spew them out there on the web for all to see?
Probably not…but I digress.
For some time I’ve toyed with the idea of setting up a blog. What an ideal forum for allowing myself to blather and bloviate ad nausem, with no pesky other members to snipe at my ramblings.
But back to the primary question – who really cares what I’ve got to say? Is this some sort of electronic self satisfaction that I can not achieve otherwise? Clearly people read blogs, and clearly some people get things out of them.
I can not say the with any certainty that starting a blog will do no more than convince a few strangers that I am an uninteresting, pompous, blowhard who needs a place to vent. On the other hand, there are a lot of things that I have been doing with this boat that are of interest to people, and we have some dreams and aspirations that are common to more than a few wanderlust stricken dreamers out here on the internet.
Well, for now let’s just throw it up on the wall and see if it sticks.
